ACM EXTENDED / REFERENCE
Oxygen readings
Saturation, delivered breaths and circulation answer different questions.
01
Read the measurements together
| Measurement | What to assess |
|---|---|
SpO2 | Oxygen saturation. Interpret it alongside airway patency, chest injury and delivered oxygen. |
Respiratory rate and delivered volume | Whether breaths are occurring and moving enough gas. A set ventilator rate alone does not establish effective ventilation. |
EtCO2 and its waveform | Exhaled CO2 and breath detection. Check the airway, ventilation and circulation when the waveform or value changes. |
Pulse and blood pressure | Whether blood is circulating. Saturation does not replace a perfusion assessment. |
02
Choose the next assessment
Use the airway and chest guide for obstructed or ineffective breathing, ventilator guide for respiratory support, and rhythm guide when a pulse is absent or unreliable. The examination reference explains the displayed findings.

Transport and settings
Addon Options > ACM Extended: Systems > Systems > Flight physiology controls modeled altitude and flight effects. Reassess oxygenation and breathing during air transport. See Flight Physiology for the transport guide.
